When is the municipal election?
The 2022 Municipal Election will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022.
Who can vote in Brampton's election?
You are eligible to vote in the 2022 Municipal Election in Brampton, if on Voting Day (Monday, October 24, 2022), you:
- are a Canadian Citizen;
- are at least 18 years old;
- a resident in the City of Brampton; or
- a non-resident of Brampton, but you or your spouse are the owner or tenant of land in Brampton; and
- not prohibited from voting under any law.
You must vote in the ward where you live.
Who is not eligible to vote in the election?
The following are prohibited from voting:

A person who is serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution

A corporation

A person acting as executor or trustee or in any other representative capacity, except as a voting proxy in accordance with section 44.

A person who was convicted of the corrupt practice described in subsection 90 (3), if voting day in the current election is less than five years after voting day in the election in respect of which he or she was convicted.
What is a Municipal Voters' List?
The municipal Voters' List identifies people who are eligible to vote in the municipal election, by name, qualifying address, school support and residency.
The Voters' List is put together for each election based on information that is held by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC).
How do I check if I'm on the voter's list?
- Contact our campaign office after September 3rd.
- Contact the City of Brampton's election office by dialing 3-1-1 (within city limits) or 905-874-2000 (outside city limits) or email bramptonvotes@brampton.ca.
